A large part of what we do on this blog is featuring, promoting and connecting with other bloggers, makers, creatives, indie businesses, shops and brands etc.

We aim to keep our content meaningful & relevant to our readers, therefore we welcome advertisers in fields such as vintage interior design & decoration, DIY, art, graphic design & illustration, photography, smart home technology, cooking/baking, food & drink, gardening, travel, vintage fashion etc.

If you think you’d be a good fit and would like to advertise with us – please get in touch!

We reserve the right to decline any request to host an ad or give-away or to write a review if we think the product or brand isn’t a good fit with our core readership. Other than eventual winners, we don’t share competition entrants’ contact details with any 3rd parties.

We accept 234 x 234 and 234 x 60 pixel sidebar ads. If you wish to have a custom ad in a different length, just get in touch with us to discuss.

Disclosure statement

The H is for Home Harbinger is a ‘for profit’ blog. We only accept sponsors/advertisers or promote businesses that we feel share our ethos and have a common approach. We’re members of a few affiliate programs including SkimLinks and Awin. We’re also an Amazon Associates member. What this means is if you click on an affiliate link, either within a post or in our header or sidebar and you go on to make a purchase, we’ll make a small commission. This won’t add to the price you pay for anything.

We publish occasional guest and sponsored posts. Again, only about or on behalf of carefully selected companies and brands.

Review & give-away policy

If you’re interested in submitting books, magazines, homeware items etc. to be reviewed, please get in touch via our contact page. We only review items that we feel reflect the H is for Home style, but we appreciate every offer & inquiry! Review items that have been sent free-of-charge are clearly credited at the bottom of posts.

If you’re interested in running a competition or give-away via our blog, please get in touch. We’re also happy to write guest posts for other bloggers.

If you’re a journalist or PR professional working in the vintage and/or homeware market and are often looking for high res cut out images, please feel free to add us to your mailing list!

Guest blogging policy
We’re happy to consider writing guest posts on other blogs in our niche and with a similar readership. We’re also open to having guest bloggers write for us – pitch us an inspiring idea or two! We are increasingly receiving requests from ‘online marketeers’ and ‘SEO companies’ wanting to write guest posts for completely inappropriate clients and/or irrelevant topics. We do not respond to these kind of speculative pitches. If you’re a ‘genuine’ blogger wanting to write a relevant post, here are our posting guidelines.

All guest posts must:

• be of interest & relevant to H is for Home and our audience
• not infringe any copyright laws
• be grammatically correct and not contain spelling errors
• not be self-promotional. Don’t include a “call to action” to visit your blog, website or shop; or to check out a product or service that you’re offering
• include a 2-3 sentence author biography to be published at the foot of the post. Up to 3 links may be included here – e.g. to the author’s website, webshop, blog or social media stream
• be original content. Guest posts that have already been published elsewhere will not be considered

We’re very flexible when it comes to blog post length. What we’re not flexible about however, is quality! We reserve the right to edit content in order to maintain our house style and standards.
